NikeLab asked us to put together a two-day guided tour as an experience for their guests from China to accompany the release of the NikeLab x ACRONYM® AF1 Downtown in Berlin.
The group of influential creatives and photographers consisted of MAEKAN co-founder Alex Maeland, photographers Jennifer Bin and Kuan Zhu and their host Jason Lam from NikeLab Shanghai. Over the course of three days we set out to show them a variety of sides to ‘our’ Berlin: from historic landmarks, culinary favorites such as Neukölln’s Lebanese food staples and traditional German restaurants, to select retail hot spots and spaces that host the city’s vibrant art scene.
Of course we had to stop by at local street culture institutions 032c and Civilist. As a highlight the group received a private tour through the ACRONYM® studio and archive by mastermind Errolson Hugh himself before winding down at the beautiful launch dinner and after-party at SOHO House Berlin. The event was hosted by our good friends over at NikeLab Berlin and ACRONYM®.
The strong DJ line-up included local heroes Mobilegirl, Mechatok, and Lotic, with Zomby as special guest. This party was the perfect opportunity to show what is probably the best known side to our home city: its progressive club scene.

The AF1 Downtown is the third project of an ongoing collaboration between NikeLab and ACRONYM®.
During their 2-day visit the group captured hundreds of photographs in and around Berlin, many of which have since then appeared via Instagram and other social media channels.
