Hi Richard, the first questions got to
be, what's with the new look?! Ha
Ha, does that have to be the first question! Go on then...
So did you wake up one morning and think:
"I've made a new album, I'll shave my hair and eyebrows off!
Nah, I done it before actually.
Really?!
It's just a haircut innit?! So
it wasn't anything to do with new live shows?
No, there was no synchronicity apart from my hand, the razor, and
my head... .and after that the synchronicity ends!
Since you joined the UNKLE project the music
seems to have moved into different areas - of course the way you joined
UNKLE was quite random, how did that happen?
We just started talking about making music really, and then James
realised I could sing, so that opened up things up and gave it more
scope. Since 'Psyence Fiction' I had been doing a lot of the UNKLE
remixes, so when 'Never Never Land' came about I became more involved.
I noticed at the live show
the other night, you were playing the guitar, what other instruments
do you play? I play piano on 'Price
You Pay', and on the album I played many instruments. Basically if
it makes a sound and I can visualise it, I'll pick it up and have
a go. I'm not trained in anything; I just pick it up as I go along...
That experimental sound certainly
comes across in the album... Yeah,
sort of unsure, but giving it a go.
