Printed Matter - Neighborhood
Tokyo, Japan
Over the past 10 years I have mainly worked in the digital world, designing and building websites, updating this magazine and since 2003 also selling through The-Glade and recently doing all design for Firmament, too. During this time, I must admit, I have been moving away from print more and more. It has been a matter of space, too. There simply wasn't much more space to store all the magazines and books I had been collecting.

For me, however, paper is back! I started going to the newsstand again and have found some superb publications. Most of them newly published titles. It is great to see that there are still people out there who believe that paper is the new Web 3.0. I do, anyway. I rather get a nice postcard or catalgue in the mail than a PDF or eMail. I - we - cannot do without the digital, but it has become a burden of some sort, too. Just imagine getting all your daily eMails as letters or faxes. Who can still cope with these amounts of communication? And/or trash?

Just last week I received some great printed matter from our friends at Neighborhood and WTAPS in Japan. Everything is done with such precision and love for detail. If I have the time I'd surely like to fame some of these pieces framed.

For now - let's turn digital again, so I can show you a quick preview.
