The Stockholm based design company Gram was started in 2005 by Anna Stenvi and Alexis Holm. Their first products consisted of a range of shoes which quickly found their way into stores around Europe, the US, as well as Asia.

Apart from their expansion into the clothing sector, Gram has also just introduced gram SE, a small side project focussing on premium materials and subtle colors, incorporating various technological advancements.

The first style for the gram SE launch is a hi-top model in two colorways: black/white and white/white. Keeping within this basic scheme, gram SE emphasizes the silhouette of the shoe. The focus rests on the shape and the 'lines' on this model. Without the disctraction of color, one can easily 'take in' this new form while also 'zooming in' on all details.

The sole consists of two different materials: EVA and rubber, combined to provide for the best cushioning while enhancing its durability and ensuring the wearer's grip on various surfaces. Should, in fact, the soles get worn out, each pair comes with replacement parts for the front and heel part. Upper, lining and insole have been constructed to equally high standards: triple seams on the calf leather panels, enforced speed lace loops, moisture absorbing mesh lining and
  

padded lining on the inside will keep your feet comfortable from day one.

Designed to complement the outsole, the ergonomically shaped insole offers support with neoprene heel padding, silicone arch support, as well as allover EVA cushioning. Covered in soft, quick drying microfiber cloth all moisture is 'transported' away.

Besides all the various features, it is it's the balanced design of this shoe that sets it apart from the many releases and launches that we have experienced in recent months. Especially in the footwear sector, starting out seems to be rather difficult. Only few brands have succeeded in establishing a sound design concept with an equally important technological/ergonomical focus.

We are looking forward to the bigger line of gram SE footwear to be released in the fall. For now - this one will do just fine...
