On September 6th, a group of friends of the store HHV and of both brands were invited on a hike through the forests around the Großer Müggelberg, on the edge of Berlin, to celebrate the launch of the Keen x Gramicci Jasper Zionic. Beinghunted. organised the day on HHV’s behalf.

The Jasper Zionic draws on the heritage of both brands and brings together hiking, climbing, and outdoor wear. Its design references the outdoors directly: the stitching echoes a mountain ridge line, and the laces are modelled on climbing rope.

Beinghunted. kept the format simple, a straightforward hike in the Berlin countryside that put the shoe literally on the feet of a small group of outdoor enthusiasts. Guests wore the Jasper Zionic on the trail throughout the day and stopped for a Japanese-inspired packed lunch from DASHI Diner, a nod to the fact that both Keen and Gramicci are run out of Japan.

Putting a product directly on people’s feet is the most effective way to turn them into ambassadors and to gather honest feedback, hands-on, or in this case feet-on. The hike also made a quieter point. You don’t have to live in the Allgäu to go hiking; the area around Berlin has plenty of nature and good trails of its own. Keen and Gramicci are usually associated with more demanding terrain, and the day showed they work just as well in Brandenburg.
