They call it ACID

If you are a certain age, you may sigh when you hear there is 'another' film about the Acid House phenomenon. Many of these films and documentaries, have tried without much success to encapsulate what happened between 87-89, but for once 'Acid House' has it's Quadrophenia in "They Call it Acid".

Filmed, directed and produced by Gordon Mason, "They Call it Acid" stands up as the only true documentary of those seminal years, that changed the face of Britain for good. Mason has compiled footage from Shoom, Spectrum and even the Clink Street parties, which are complimented by a soundtrack of the best music of that time, giving the viewer a true insight into those heady years.

Really only one man could narrate this film, and they have got their man in the voice of house music Robert Owens, responsible for records such as 'I'll Be Your Friend', 'Tears', and a member of Fingers Inc. The culmination of never seen before footage, interviews with the major players of that time - Paul Oakenfold, Alfredo, Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway (amongst many others), and an amazing soundtrack - this film really is unmissable.

We caught up with the producer Gordon Mason, Dave Little who was responsible for many of the flyer designs, as well as giving Boys Own its identity, and Rocky (Rocky & Diesel, Xpress 2, Boys Own) to get their opinion on what exploded in the UK around 87-89.
